The 6 foot high, jelly roll like, round bales, used now in Saskatchewan for both hay and straw have almost replaced the small 2'x3' square bale of past times. The modern "round bales" can be handled more easily with a tractor's front end loader equipped with a spear like, "jousting pole" mounted on the front.
